The Wexford and Missaukee Counties Emergency Food and Shelter Program have been awarded federal funds made available through the Department of Homeland Security/Federal Emergency Management under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program.
The Wexford County Emergency Food and Shelter Program has been chosen to receive $17, 075 for Wexford County and $8,838 for Missaukee County to supplement food and shelter programs.
The local board made up of community members will determine how the funds awarded to Wexford County EFSP are to be distributed among the emergency food and shelter programs run by local service agencies in Wexford County.
Under the terms of the grant from the National Board, local agencies choses to receive funds must 1) be private voluntary nonprofits or units of government 2) be eligible to receive Federal funds and 3) have an accounting system , 4) practice non-discrimination, 5) have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs and 6) if they are a private voluntary organization, have a voluntary board.
Public or private voluntary agencies interested in applying for EFSP program funds must contact Wexford County EFSP, email@example.com or 231-580-7953 for an application. The deadline for application is July 12, 2019.
